Street Fighter IV Delayed to Coincide With Film Release

Time to start sharpening thine blades. In a new interview over at Game Daily, Patrick Aiello who is producing the upcoming film Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, states that Street Fighter IV will now be released along side the film on February 27th 2009. It had been previously reported that the title would make its way to PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 later this year.

Aiello states, "Capcom is releasing Street Fighter IV in 2009, which is the 20th anniversary of the game." Since this isn't actually the case (the original Street Fighter was released in 1987 and Street Fighter II in 1991), one can only assume that the push is to help drum up more business for the film. There's been no official word from Capcom regarding any delay.

Lame move IMO, just lame.
