Microsoft Offers Storage Solution for New Xbox Live Experience

If you listed to our latest skirmish (podcast) or otherwise learned about the issue with Xbox 360 Arcade/Core owners NOT being able to acquire the new Xbox Live Experience update due to a lack of storage (it requires 128 MB of storage space), then you'll understand why the following news is pretty cool.

Microsoft announced today that it will offer a free 512 MB memory card or a refurb 20GB HD for $19.99 to Xbox 360 Arcade/Core owners who simply visit a special section of the Xbox site and enter their unit's serial number. After the things check out as legit, you'll get to choose which route you take to storage-ville and enjoy the ensuing goodness of the brand new Xbox Live Experience which is slated for deliver on November 19, 2008.

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle (I had to...)
