Comrades! A great day is upon us. Today we have official word that the long-rumored
Xbox 360 price cuts are going into effect this Friday. In a newsflash on Xbox.com,
Microsoft announced that beginning Sept 5th the new SKU lineup will be priced as follows:
- Xbox 360 Arcade: $199.99
- Xbox 360: $299.99
- Xbox 360 Elite: $399.99
Microsoft is quite happy about now having the most affordable next-gen console on the market (after the $249.99 Nintendo Wii) stating "History shows that more than 75 percent of all console sales happen after the price falls below the $200 mark." Friday's price drop will only effect 360 consoles in the United States and follows close on the heels of similar reductions
announced for Japan on Monday.
