Beta for SOCOM PS3 Is Live

Tipsters to Kotaku (hey...we need our own tipsters...) have flooded the internet with word that the PlayStation 3 beta for SOCOM: Confrontation has gone live. Well, at least they're reporting that they're receiving beta keys and access to download the game as I type.

As the first PS3 installment of the popular SOCOM franchise, Confrontation will offer online play for up to 32 players on a global scale and tons of customization options ranging from weapons to the physical appearance of your character. 

The game itself is scheduled to launch on October 14, 2008.
