As we've discussed before, we like zombies here at the Axe. Mostly because no one really minds if you initiate a genocidal uzi-fest on them, but also because...well I forget, let's just stick with the uzi-fest reason. If all this talk has got your trigger finger worked up into a spastic episode, then we're sorry to report that you're going to have to be patient just a little while longer.
Valve President Gabe Newell stated over the weekend that Turtle Rock Studio's survival-horror-FPS Left 4 Dead would be hitting the streets on Nov 20th, two weeks later than its original Nov 4th release. But the story doesn't end there. Today, Shacknews is reporting that Valve marketing VP Doug Lombardi tells them Left 4 Dead is actually hitting North America on Nov 18th and Europe on the 21st. The reason for the delay is given as "fine tuning".
Whether the 18th or the 20th, Left 4 Dead will street for PC and Xbox 360 during the week that marks the 10th anniversary of Valve's original FPS classic Half-Life. If the buzz surrounding L4D is any indication, we may still be talking about this one in ten-years time too. Check out this video from Gamekings.tv (german) to see Newell dish on Left 4 Dead and show off some of this title's ultra-slick gameplay (don't worry the actual interview and demo is all in english).
Extra tidbit: Lombardi says there's a "50-50 chance" of seeing L4D on PS3, but not this year.
