Ironclad Games has announced the first in a series of "micro-expansion" packs for their real-time strategy hit Sins of a Solar Empire. Entrenchment, the first of three expansions will add Starbase defense platforms, turret upgrade, mine fields and more. The two other planned upgrades will introduce diplomacy features, as well as new ships and technologies.
The Starbase defense platforms are described as powerful armored bases with enough fire-power to defend a whole planet. The update will also introduce the new Subspace Inhibitor platform which is capable of slowing any enemy ships within its range.
Available for $9.95 exclusively through publisher Stardock's Impulse digital distribution platform. SSE: Entrenchment is available for pre-order now and will be release in late 2008 for the PC. Stay tuned to the official website for more news and details.
